1. Identity of the provider

AreaCacao (hereinafter, the Service) offers digital tools for chocolate-making professionals: formulation, sensory analysis, cost management, and inventory.

2. Acceptance

By creating an account or using the Service, you accept these Terms and the Privacy Policy. Use of the Service is reserved for persons over 18 years of age acting within the scope of their professional activity.

3. User accounts

• You are responsible for your access credentials (email + password + 2FA where applicable).
• Do not share your account with third parties without written authorization.
• The Service may suspend accounts that violate these Terms or that show fraudulent activity.

4. Subscriptions and payments

• The Service is billed through Stripe on monthly or annual plans.
• You may cancel your subscription at any time from the customer portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the billed period.
• We keep billing history for 7 years (Spanish General Tax Law).

5. Intellectual property

• The AreaCacao code, design, and brand are the property of the Service.
• The recipes and data you enter are yours. The Service processes them only to provide the functionality you request.

6. AI processing

Some modules (formulator, formula validator, recipe importer) use third-party AI models. The results are suggestions and do not replace professional judgment. The Service is not responsible for decisions made solely on the basis of these suggestions.

7. Availability

The Service is provided "as is" with a reasonable availability target. We do not guarantee 100% uptime, nor do we provide compensation for occasional maintenance outages.

8. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the Service's liability is limited to the amount paid by the subscriber in the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.

9. Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by Spanish law. Any dispute will be resolved before the competent courts of the controller's domicile.

10. Changes to the Terms

We will notify you by email of any substantial change 30 days before it takes effect. Continued use of the Service implies acceptance of the new version.
